Agree 100%. However when I post a message replying to any MSM China bashing article the response is predictable and vicious. When I point out that China’s economic results during the last 40 years have been near miraculous and that its form of government was the correct one for Chinese people during that period of time I always receive 1 or 2 “Why don’t you move there” replies. Officially, China has a tiny nuclear arsenal. But 400 warheads is much too few for a nation like China, which should have many more, while not trying to race the U.S. or Russia in warhead numbers.

Not a matter of matching or gaining advantage, but one of being able to do as much damage as they might receive. Balance.

China started adding about 100 new large warheads per year, starting in 2021. By 2027, the US/NATO intel agencies’ projection is they’ll have a minimum of around 1,000 to 1,200 warheads, and double that number by 2035. We’re talking the big thermonuclear bombs here, the city-busters, not the “small” ones for use against mere armies, air bases or fleets. China already has a lot of those little nukes.

The 400 number has long been obsolete, the current total (2023) is prolly about 700 or 800 already. Easily.

If we really insist on this new Cold War against China, they’ve got the industry, raw materials and know-how to build up even faster. Much faster. China is slow-crawling their nukes as of now. The Chinese still aren’t aggressive, just prudent. Somebody waves a big shotgun at you, might be smart to at least buy a good handgun, right?
