In today’s Dialogue Works podcast, Nima Alkhoshid steals a march on Tuesday’s talks between the Russian and American teams preparing for the summit meeting to follow between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump.

We look at the US team – the megalomaniac, the Confederates, the Family, and the moneymen – and at the Russian team (Foreign Minister Lavrov, Kremlin foreign policy advisor Ushakov, Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO Dmitriev) and discuss what temporary terms are possible for outcome; what permanent peace for the Ukraine, China, Iran, and Palestine is probable, if any.

The Maryland State Board of Censors and the British Board of Film Classification warn this podcast is not for the vainly optimistic, falsely conscious, premature triumphalists, paid propagandists. This is the school of grim realism, not the Professor Mushheimer school of realism nor the Doctor Zero theatre of Russian PR.

Listen to the hour-long discussion here.

  1. Kinda seems like “megalomania” would be a job requirement for the leader of the most aggressive militarized empire on the planet, wouldn’t you say? Or is this another political psychoanalysis like Adorno and the boys at UCLA cooked up to disguise fascism as a psychological aberration that appealed only to thugs, losers, even haters, and had noting to do with the historical, social, political or economic circumstances of the time?

  2. I always enjoy Nima’s videos and hope that these meetings. What I am seeing of the Trump team is something of a “Not Ready for Prime Time” scenario. Too many agendas and not enough knowledge about geo-politics and history – especially in regard to Trump himself. These Russians are not to be played with. First of all, Lavrov is the diplomat of the highest degree. I enjoy listening to his intelligent take on things. The Russians seem to be going into the negotiations with one mind. The Americans – definitely not.

  3. Zelensky suddenly flew to the UAE to sign a trade agreement. It allows Ukrainian investments there with strict privacy (i.e. secret accounts). His wife was there and opened the first Ukrainian “business investment company” in the UAE. What is her salary in Ukraine?

With China finishing off the Cambodia Mekong (Financial Techo) Canal, Vietnam might even orbit toward China as it is essentially surrounded.

    There goes South East Asia.

  5. Isn’t Rubber Boy over his head on this one?

from their actions and statements, it is clear that the russians are going to get everything they demanded in december of 2021 and then some. when they gave their final warning, they were laughed at by nato and the brandon administration, who thought they were luring the bear into a trap.

all of these demands are now being repainted, as trumps bold initiative, when in fact it is complete capitulation to the totally reasonable demands of the russian federation. now the e.u. will receive a new paint job as well. they will be painted, as losers that started the whole war and now need to clean up their mess. but don’t worry e.u., the russians said they don’t mind if the rump joins the e.u., lol and poland can have all the banderites 🤣.

this is world war 2 all over again, europe is in economic ruins and there ain’t gonna be no marshall plan this time. i don’t know one example of a country that trusted the united states, that wasn’t thrown under the bus.

it’s amazing how fast this shape shifting country, can change and turn on a dime. no, the e.u. has always been our enemy and russia has always been our ally, the look of disbelief on the faces of the european elite is priceless, as they are memory holed down the toilet of history.

The Germans ought to publish the identity of Nordstream 2 saboteurs.

  9. Putin has to negotiate so that those that fought on the Russian side are well looked after, to the victor go the spoils.

If Europe wants Russian gas again then Europe pays benchmark, to pay for the damage their weapons did, before any cheaper contacts can be negotiated.

Putin has to play hardball because he is negotiating for the soldiers who have died or being maimed.

Interesting discussion. My question is: Will Russia throw Iran and China under the bus in the same way it did to Syria?
