There is so much hatred and outright mockery of Christianity and Christians at this site. Emotional incontinence of the sort displayed in these comments belies the writers’ supposed opposition to the left, whose chief trait is the sort of spluttering emotional incontinence on display in these comments—just like almost every time a congressional Democrat open his or her mouth. If these commenters are sincere in their desire to turn things around, they couldn’t do worse than alienate Christians as they do.

However, there is nothing new about these sorts of people who love to hate Christianity, Christian churches, etc. They tend to naturally ally themselves with Jews, or may be homosexuals, actual Jews etc.

The one talking about the priest driving some sort of luxury SUV around sounds pretty familiar. I wouldn’t bet it was the person I was thinking about, but it sounds very familiar. There was this character who was a “cold caller” type – very similar to the KIKE personality type, who would post on these boards non-stop years ago. I’ve often reflected on the question of Christianity’s takeover.

If you look at Roman and Greek as sacrificial belief systems you’ll find one common denominator with the Hebrew Basic and Hebrew Alt, and they also shared sacrificial concepts with the Egyptians and Babylonians, etc. Hebrew Alt’s ‘one very important sacrifice, Mr. Big God himself’ eliminated animal and human sacrifice as a regular spiritual practice (read the Odyssey, for the example) and perhaps that was its main appeal to the vast majority of people and why it succeeded with the elite and the slave and working class.

And Christianity incorporated in a clever way the ‘old’ non monotheistic belief systems, with whole pantheons of minor gods, saints, Mother Mary, pagan feast days, winter solstice, spring/Easter etc.

So for the vast majority who didn’t read and just heard the preaching and saw the images, it wasn’t that big a change, except maybe slightly more emphasis on the wretched of earth having souls, no different in the eyes of god than the emperor and actual sacrifice was illegal.
