There’s something tenuous about this whole line of reasoning.

Proper ID laws to preserve the integrity of the democratic voting process aren’t a means to leveraging a political outcome, they are a legitimate objective in their own right – not optional.

Demographic change can only “swamp” a proper and transparent election structure in the sense that the changing proportion of ethnicities might favour specific election issues. That’s not something that should be opposed – believe it or not, that’s democracy.

If patriotic interests are worried about the political or cultural character of immigrants bringing detrimental changes to the nation, then perhaps the relevant regulatory agencies should be more particular about who they allow or invite into the country.

I listen often to Gregory Hood’s conversations with Chris Roberts and read his work as well. I appreciate his thoughts on our present situation. But I think he picks a bad event to use in his argument when he brings in Ashli Babbitt’s death. Whatever the intentions of the mob that invaded the Congress, it was entirely reasonable to think that individuals in the mob might use physical violence were they to encounter some of the members of Congress they held responsible for Trump’s loss. I have no inside information on the shooting of Babbitt, but when police officers are hired to guard Congress then that’s what they should do. Comparisons with the Floyd riots are fine if the intention is to show that many politicians lack a consistent standard, but when you join in a riot and break through police barriers among a host of people who are yelling that they want to find people like, say, Pelosi, well, I think you forfeit your right to be treated merely as if you parked in the handicapped spot.
