I think the right way to understand all this is as follows:

1) The western tradition has its true roots in the philosophical nuance as provided by the Greek Stoics who predated Christ.

Treaty Ports are not equivalent to Colonial Cities such as HK and Macao. Shanghai, for example, was a Treaty Port City which was home to several foreign concessions where Western merchants would ply their trade. While the Western residents living and working in those foreign concessions were subject to Western Laws, the Chinese residents of Shanghai living and working outside of those concessions were not. Technically speaking, those Chinese Treaty Port cities were not politically Western colonies despite the presence of Western merchants in foreign concessions as they rarely ventured outside of their Western enclaves. I don’t think your point 4 is accurate. In traditional Christian theology the Christians replaced the Jews as God’s chosen people. I don’t think Jews were able to shape the direction of Christianity in the early centuries leading up to Constantine. In fact the early church fathers were extremely anti-Jewish. The best of them, Augustine of Hippo, is praised by Jewish scholars for insisting that Christians permit Jews to live and not exterminate them so they would survive as what he termed a “witness people” forever condemned to wander the Earth in exile. This negative perspective was nevertheless a vast improvement over the Jew-hatred of many other early church fathers.

The mistake of the Catholic church, if it made one, was to permit the Jews to live in Europe as a protected minority community. The arrangement was the Jews would live in ghettos, something their own rabbis favored, to ensure that Jews would not seek to convert Christians to Judaism. But the Catholic Church took seriously it’s responsibility to protect Jews from physical harm. I believe this derives from Paul’s letters (particularly Romans) where he talks about the need to tolerate Jewish unbelief in Jesus until God would bring about the finality of evangelism.
