Oliver Boyd-Barrett discusses the train wreck that Trump’s Ukraine peace negotiations have become. Is the US grand strategy to leave Europe fighting Russia, bleeding both US rivals, while the US turns its attention to China…and perhaps gets dragged into an Israeli war on Iran? And if the Ukraine war won’t end quickly in the promised Trump truce, how will it end?
Oliver Boyd-Barrett is emeritus professor of Bowling Green State University, Ohio and of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (California), and has taught at other universities in several countries. His most recent book is Russiagate Revisited: Aftermath of a Hoax.

The prospects for peace in my view, Kevin, don’t look particularly hopeful despite Trump’s efforts to engage two peace envoys to bring about a settlement of the conflict. They include General Kellogg, whose ideas are the principal ideas that inform the latest formal US peace proposal to Ukraine and to Russia to consider, and which were due to be discussed in Paris this week. But the discussion never really occurred because even before we got there, Zelensky was saying that Ukraine could never accept one of the core principal features of the Kellogg designed US peace proposal, which had to do with US recognition of Crimea as belonging to Russia. Zelenskyy categorically refused even to consider this.
What planet is Zelenskyy living on?
So again, Zelensky does seem to have shot himself in the foot, because many analysts were expecting that although Zelensky was unlikely to feel comfortable with any or very much of the Kellogg peace plan, he would nonetheless pretend to play along with it just for long enough to keep the United States in the game, sending weapons and sharing intelligence with Ukraine, and to keep the United States in NATO and in Europe. All of these things that could would quite likely have followed by Zelensky pretending to agree with the peace plan. But then, of course, with the help of the Europeans, who are as equally uncomfortable with Kellogg as Zelensky is, they would later upset the whole thing, and we’d be back to war, in the hope—the vain hope, I should say, by Zelensky and by his European sycophants—sorry, supporters—that eventually they could actually win a war with Russia, so long as Ukraine somehow contrives to find a way to find a space that’s long enough for it to rearm, that is to say, to accept from Europe up to 800 billion dollars.
$800 billion seems to be a figure that’s canvassed widely by people like Ursula von der Leyen and by the soon to be Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, as the kind of figure that they’re aiming for with respect to a rearmament of Germany and or of Europe. And this would be also the source of funding for Ukraine. And the magnificent ending of this terrible narrative of the war between Ukraine and Russia in Ukraine’s favor is all total and utter rubbish in my view, Kevin.

Perhaps someone can explain the lunacy of the West for the last almost 100 years. They fight the largest war in history along side the aggressive imperialistic USSR which essentially saved the USSR. That resulted in the Soviets imposing slavery on Eastern Europe for over 40 years. Now the West seeks the destruction of Russia, a Russia that if treated properly could be a great asset for the West.
Zelenskyy? He is just a buffoon yet he is who the West rallies around? I will go with the assumption that the entire attack on Russia from NATO is just a globalist power grab trying to destroy Russian sovereignty in order to loot them of the natural resources. Obviously whatever Trump wants to do is apparently going to be defeated because the parties wanting the destruction of Putin have no interest in peace.

The neoconservative movement–composed of trotskyite jews who fled the USSR during the ideological shift–has demanded nuclear war with the USSR–and then Russia–ever since. Not because of any specific interest in the political entity in question, but merely so that they can reclaim power over the land they once controlled. No matter who is there now.

Russia will not accept Trump’s neocon plan since it only addresses two of five demands. But the Russians are smart enough to talk and say positive things in contrast to Zelensky whose handlers in Brussels told him to give Trump the finger.
Worldwide Jewry is at war with Russia. The hatred that the Jew dictator of Jewkraine (Zelensky) has for Putin and Russia is typical of Jews. All Western presidents and prime ministers are under the stinking foot of the Jews.
This perspective might make sense save for two very glaring actualities
a. Europe was in process of developing increased trade with Russia
b. the best opportunity (save the current status) of taking out Russia was in 1989 when the Soviet Union was retracting from the USS to a myriad of independent states.

First, Pres. Trump’s great weaknesses: personal fear and some manner of inferiririty. Now there’s nothing wrong with either, unless that lead one to debilitative conduct and in the cirre\nt situation, I have to say on Ukraine – Russia. The choices have been utterly debelitiating to Ukraine, Europe and the US independentky and internationally.
All that nonsense about cards when the admin played their open hand of poker without batting an eye. The tactic of pressuring the presumed weaker party can work, if that party doesn’t have the means to fight back or the will. Given the amount of support for Ukraine, it was absolute foolish to engage in the games that the admin has.
Russia is not a friend to the US and never will be. And granting them everything they want when its obvious that Ukraine has stopped the supposed major player cold dead in her tracks. All that might I thought would roll across Ukraine never materialized. And the US admin looks foolish, inept and out of their depth for sure. Personal relations such as Pres Trump imagines he has with Pres Putin was always a ruse or far more superficial that the current executive thought. Russia is not the USSR. And Pres Nixon had a healthier relationship with Premier Kruczchev that Pres Trump will ever have with Pres Putin. Pres Nixon understood, when it comes to communists, personal relations are a tool of policy, not a staple of binding interpersonals.
Russia needs to be removed from Ukraine in full, including Crimea.

Thank you, I hadn’t realized that Oliver earned his Ph.D. in critical media studies around the same time that I was an undergraduate in the journalism program at UW-Madison studying similar things with John McNelly and Wilmot Ragsdale. The world needs more critical media studies! Warning: Studying such things can alienate people from the dominant discourse and produce damnable heretics like Oliver and me.

This pissed off worldwide Jewry. Jews then agitated for the Russian Communist government to allow hundreds of thousands of Jews to be released to Israel and America. The most destructive spy in American history, Jonathan Pollard sold secrets to his fellow Jews in Israel, who then passed on those secrets to the Soviet Union in exchange for more Jews being allowed to leave the Soviet Union. Today, Russia is allied with Iran, which is Israel’s archenemy. This pisses off all Jews and also explains why Israel has (covertly) been helping Ukraine kill Russians/ Putin is also anti-globalist whereas Jews are globalist by nature. Finally, Russians have no patience with the LGBQT movement, while Jews overwhelmingly support it.
By all accounts an end to the war is imminent. An extraordinary article (to me) appeared a few days ago telling us that Trump’s plan to end the war involved ceding the territory currently occupied by Russian forces to Russia, which seems reasonable. It could be theater, but …. it’s a radical departure from the past positioning.
Russia has hundreds of trillions in natural resources which is real wealth, whereas, America and the West in general, carries a debt load of hundreds of trillions, which is an albatross around the neck of the West. Greed and plunder of Russia is the motivation for Russian “hatred”
